Entry requirements:
Applicants should have a 3.5 GPA in all chemistry classes, completion of a secondary school curriculum with above-average performance in all coursework and above average performance on any cumulative examinations taken at the end of secondary school. They coursework should include four years of English, three years of mathematics, three years of science and three years of social studies. A minimum TOEFL score of 525 (paper test) or 197 (computer test), graduate from English speaking secondary school are also required. If their first language is English, student should take the SAT I or ACT examination. Applicants must achieve a minimum of a composite of 1030 with scores of 500 on both the verbal and math sections of the SAT I, or a composite of a 22 on the ACT.

Applicants should submit the completed online or paper application along with a $25 application fee. They should submit the official secondary school (high school) transcripts, counselor recommendation form. The Chemistry Department at Alma College is housed within the Ronald O. Kapp Science Laboratory Center. The Department was constructed in 1990 and contains well-equipped laboratories arranged in suites with adjacent instrumentation labs.

This College offers Bruske Hall - co-ed residence hall on campus. Bruske is designed in quads - clusters of rooms surrounding a center bathroom. Gelston Hall is a co-ed residence hall. Mitchell was the first residence to be built for men, but these days they are co-ed. They are wired for online computer access and have in-room cable TV. Newberry is wired for online computer access and have in-room cable television. They also have a lobby, study lounge, computer lab and laundry facilities. Newberry is staffed by student resident assistants and a postgraduate hall director. The four halls that make up South Complex, Carey, Bonbright, Nisbet and Brazell, were built in 1970. Carey and Bonbright share one entrance and Nisbet and Brazell share the other. They are wired for online computer access and are co-ed by suite (two rooms connected by one bathroom). Wright Hall - They have double and single rooms with private baths, living rooms and kitchens. Designed to be more like apartments than dorm rooms, Wright Hall’s suites and apartments still give a “family” feel. The building also has rooms set aside for student collaboration and game rooms.
