The university is one of the big ten universities – so there are excellent facilities. The HCI program at the school of informatics, Indiana University, is one of the best in the field. Our professors were brilliant and my experience at the university was really good.

As part of the admission process, I wrote my GRE and TOEFL. I went to classes for GRE verbal and Quants. The visa interview was fairly straightforward. I had to book my tickets a couple of months in advance to get good deals. I flew by Lufthansa. The Indianapolis airport is an hour away from Bloomington. I was travelling with roommates so we shared the cab ride and made it to Bloomington. Seniors helped us finalize an apartment even before we landed in the USA, so by the time we got there we had a place to stay.

Getting assistantship is not impossible. Almost everyone who wanted to find an assistantship/job were able to find something or the other.

The HCI program at the school of informatics, Indiana University, is one of the best in the field. The professors have a diverse background and are very friendly. They are brilliant as well! The university is one of the big ten universities – so there are excellent facilities.

The situation is pretty good. It’s a college town with a great downtown. I lived in off campus apartment complex called fountain park. Really good experience with the apartment management.

My department had a good career program but most of us did our own job hunting and were successful at it. Alumni association depends on departments and they are usually well connected.
