The history of the Institution dates back to 1812. The Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education were once two separate institutions, which were joined in 1997. There are approximately 390 students at the Institution which operates out of 2 campuses – one in Richmond, Virginia and the second in Charlotte, North Carolina. These campuses offer programs such as Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Christian Education, Master of Theology, Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy. In addition, the college also has an extended campus program that provides a means for working adults to pursue part-time graduate study.
